Default How to remove controller from clip inside cabinet?

    Hello,

I'm trying to remove this controller from the cabinet so I can rewire it to the machine. I really can't determine how it's supposed to come out. Should I *pry* it out with a screwdriver between the back of the controller and the clip? Does something unscrew or slide that I can't see?

I'd really appreciate any help, and hope the image is good enough for you to see!

    Thank you...

It will either slide up or down out of the bracket, I've seen it both ways. It looks like yours slides down, there's a lip on top. Yes you might have to pry it somehow, on mine that slid up I tapped it very gently with a hammer. Once you get it out it should go back in and come out more easily.

Be careful about tapping with a hammer since it's bakelite. You might want to put a piece of wood between the two to cushion the blow.

Mine was tight and if you look at the end of the bracket there is a wire acting as a spring clip to press against the controller to hold it snugly. If you use a thin screwdriver to get under the edge of the wire and pull it back it will loosen the tension it is pressing against the controller and allow you to remove it more easily. Slide the controller downward.
