    I got a Kenmore 158.1946 from my parents from my HS graduation in 1978. It was my only machine for 25 years and it patched and hemmed everything my ex and two boys threw at me. The only time it balked was when I re-upolstered the seat of my Datsum PU and had several layers of upolstery fabric - although breaking several size 18 needles in the process, I got it done. I still have that machine today and it's still going strong.
