Default I did it. My second Featherweight!

I did it I I purchased my second Featherweight 221. Now it does need a general tune up and a few parts. A belt, and new tension parts are at the top of the list. These are things I can do pretty easily so as soon as the parts get here I am on a roll! She is a 1955 model year and the shaft moves up and down quietly. The tension is a mess but fixable. I haven't decided on a name as of this time but I am sure I will figure that one out soon enough. I figure I got a good price at $200 plus it was local. and dropped off to me! I am so excited. Having 2 girls here to choose from when I am quilting. I couldn't wait to share this with everyone here. Fraternal twins is what I have now. Great joy.

Oh wow, congrats on the new addition! I love my FW, I make entire quilts on it, even machine quilting. It's the best. And you wouldn't find a FW in my neck of the woods for such a low price - here in the pacific northwest they are $350-$550 at least!

Congratulations on your new purchase! They are rather addictive. About 10 years ago I bought my first one, and right after that one came up at ShopGoodwill.com, so I put a bid on it and got it - I was shocked and thrilled. At the same time I had a bid for one on Ebay and got that one. (But that was because I didn't know how to stop my bid it was so low I was sure someone would out bid me anyway.) So I was sitting there with 3 little wonders and they were all in great condition and worked. My local sewing machine serviceman wanted me to start buying them for him. But a few years ago I realized I was only using one and my sister needed a machine to travel with so I gave one to her. Then my niece was sewing for her twins a lot on a machine my mom bought at Walmart so I gave her the other one. Told her if she decides she doesn't want it anymore not to just give it away because it has value. A friend of mine would love to have one but just can't afford it right now.

Julia, that's great! Have fun with "the twins" haha
My Sil can't understand how I can sew on such a small machine. I think she thinks they are just for really small things. Not so!

congrats on your great find! I have 4 of the little darlings and my 4H classes love them! Not giving any classes right now but once we all get back to healthy and it is safe I will give more classes.
