I was good at the thrift shop
However, my husband was not - he took one look at this machine and announced it was coming home with us.
Not that I had any problem with that decisions - a rather neat machine.
The needle position lever is behind the head - near the foot uptake lever. It looks like it takes high shank feet, will have to see what I've got in my collection.
I do think it's been messed with - the needle clamp has a slot and two needles will fit - except that it's oriented front/back instead of left/right.
It came in a nice desk style cabinet.
This is the newest one I bought (eBay) for my collection - very excited to get this machine! And it came with two "bullet shaped things" - seller's words.
I also got some neat attachments for my collection - including several puzzle boxes. Will post those pictures later.
I'm still moving machines around too. No idea where DH's new machine is going to go.

Kenmorerulesall has a Kenmore branded one that is at least similar with the two tension dials. IIRC he said it was German made. There is a similar but not the same Anker on Shopgoodwill right now.

No, I'm not bidding, but I wish I could.
Macybaby your husband has a good eye. I would have snapped it up too.
Very nice VS1 as well.
Congrats on your new additions.

It is a German made machine, and from what I've read - it is speculated that it's made by Gritzner-Kayser for White - several parts are stamped Original G-K.
Rodney - One side benefit of getting the VS1 - DH can use the packing to get your machine packed up this week. Right now it's sitting here in the den with me

it went in the mail this AM - so we were officially down by 1! Until we stopped at the Salvation army and DH saw a Necchi for 9.99. It's a later plastic open arm model. We were dropping something off, and figured it was worth looking around.
I found some attachments marked VS2 at the antique shop - and some high shank ones that I hope will fit the White.
