It's not a Singer, it's a Japanese built White. Singer just has the White manuals on their site.

Singer bought out White at some point, I'm not exactly sure when. You can search for the manuals for both at this site: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals
To search for this model, for example, you type "W1065" in the search box. It's a good idea to download and save any manuals you need, in case the site goes down in the future.

Hey, girl. we're twinsies!! I found out that the little w thing in the middle of the stitch selection dial is plastic and (at least mine) is loose. I think its supposed to be oriented with the little red bracket straight up at 12:00. And mine has a metal cam stack, woot!woot! Seems to sew pretty well. I've been using it for the T-shirt quilt I'm making.
They look totally alike- I wonder why they have different model #'s???

There ARE differences. The principal difference being the motor location... the motor on the White 1065 is located inside the body of the machine (internal motor and drive belt). The motor on the White 3077 is mounted outside the body of the machine (external). The bobbin winder on the 1065 is also relocated.

I'm a murder mystery and crime novel fan myself. Now I'll think of "Killer Featherweight" every time I sew on mine.
