on my previous post, NFL means Needle Flat to the Left, sorry about that, in my defense I'm recovering from surgery, but even so I've gotten right & left confused all my life.

I couldn't find a way to correct it in the original post

This may be silly, but I always see where people who know say to be sure the bobbin case is in a featherweight [or don't purchase]. Is it that expensive to replace? I thought I'd seen "modern" ones for sale online for around $100. Maybe the new ones don't work as well? Just curious.

I believe that the reproduction bobbin cases that were available before we're (let's say ) inconsistent but as of the other day......the Featherweight Shop has secured new replacements with better machined tolerances which are coming in just under $100. The machine would have to real cheap for me to buy one without the original case
