hehe - that's why I sent them to you! Otherwise I'd have been soooo tempted to find a machine that took them.
There is a set of attachments that fit a transverse shuttle machine on eBay right now - I'm sitting on my hands, and keep reminding myself I don't want them (well, yes I DO want them, but I need to have some restraint). And I also keep telling myself that I need to save my money for the few items I still want - that rarely go cheap.

Totally beautiful machine Steve (decals look bright and perfect). All happening for you now: I see why someone said "exciting". My VS2 (see avatar) is identical to yours and I love it. My other was also Victorian and I'm not a fan either.
The museum sold you their exhibit? That means documentation , and that looks like a brand new treadle belt.
