    1 Swiss Franc (CHF) = $1.04 US

    10 to a pack (10er)

I bought some 12x1's and Davis long and they were correct, can't vouch for the others as I'm getting the information from Kevinsstuff:

I wonder if duplicating these needles would be possible using one of those 3-D printer thingys? This way you would be able to do smaller amounts...no idea as to pricing.
    Maybe I was just dreaming.....

Someday, the process for making metal parts is prohibitively expensive for parts like this, now. I would suspect that withing 5-6 years it will be do-able...

Most of the "metal" you see is actually metal powder and a binding agent (i.e. epoxy) the process to make actual metal parts is very different. although is is possible to print a wax original and use the jewelers lost wax method to make a metal needle. the issue is it would not have the necessary spring tension that real needles have.

    Good idea though.

Didn't Star Trek Next generation have some kind of machine where you could duplicate anything you like? Wonder what the hamburgers will taste like?

The reason for all the discussion is that they stopped. Have they started making them again?

Schmetz doesn't list them on their web site and my local supplies shop (a Schmetz wholesaler) said they no longer make them (this was a week ago). I ordered some 12x1 needles from there about 3 weeks ago (they arrived but I haven't tried them yet) but the number available was very limited. I ordered a pack that was the last one (tried to order another one later).
I think that might be old stock, so stock might be very limited.
