    I don't see why people don't just move the bobbin winder into position and wind while they sew? That's what I do.

    Most folks forget to disengage the main drive when they wind bobbins. makes a world of difference inthe effort required.

    Sewing while winding CAN work but adds a fair bit of drag to the process in most cases

    This is a good point. The other way around it is to wind bobbins on an electric machine while sewing on it, and keeping them aside for the HC machines later.

    I do the winding as I sew - got used to it with the industrial. That said some times I use the side winder or an electric machine since I am basically very lazy.
