Kenmore Monogrammer
I have this Kenmore Monogrammer and I would like to know what model(s) it will fit so I can find a machine to use it. It's in the green box and came with additional green boxes of "C" cams and buttonholer. Here is the Monogrammer:
If it helps, here is the Buttonholer that came in the same lot:
Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking the thing with the gear replaces the one on the machine - so if it fit the machine it should work. I'm kind of curious, too. I have some of those things lurking around here and not much idea how to use them.

Thank you for all of your replies. There are monogrammers with round hoops like the one I posted and there are also oval hooped ones and I wasn't sure if there is a difference between them as to which machines they fit. I'm guessing as long as they have the mechanism under the throat plate, they'll work. I'll continue looking.
Miriam, there is a 3 page instruction pdf over on the Kenmore yahoo group if you need it.

Hi,
My old go to Kenmore is a 158.19141 and it has the same monogramer and buttonholer. I also bought quite by accident the exact same machine at a thrift shop. The thrift shop one was in very bad shape. Managed to get it all cleaned up and she sews wonderfully.
BTW I have never used the monogramer!

ok, the metal plate with the gear goes in place of the regular plate on the Kenmore--then you choose the buttonhole cam you want and dial it into the oblong gold selector making sure the size you want shows in the window--then use the screw on the back of the selector plate to screw it tightly onto the machine. The monogram attachment has an attached metal plate and snaps in place of the regular plate just like the buttonhole one does and the letter cams are dialed in only just barely to start. And Kenmore that has the snap in plate and a screw hole at the back of the machine will work. Mine is a 158.1941 You can probably go on line and find the instruction manual to the monomgrammer---I sold mine after I got my Viking 500 with built in monograms but I could scan and email you the directions for the buttonholer if you need them.

Thanks for the offer for the manual. I found one for the monogrammer but I'm not as concerned about the buttonholer at this time. I have a plethora of buttonholers and sometimes use a different machine to make them than the one used to make something.
Thanks again, everyone.
