Try Dow's Bathroom cleaner, (scrubbing bubbles) in an inconspicuous place. I have used it on several projects. Be sure to wipe completely. Put it on the rag, not the case.
I use a soft brush to work it in the rough surface and stubborn spots.
in 10 years, I haven't ruined anything, yet.

I have an old case that needs to be cleaned up too. Thanks for finding the formula.

Be careful with the "Magic Eraser". They are abrasive.

scrubbing bubbles, No. (might be perfect for a plastic case though?)
    magic sponge, No.
    Damp Magic sponge, No
Damp Magic sponge and Fantastic, No.
Naphtha, No. All I had in the #1 cleaner list.

So I fell back on my personal cleaning for everything favorite, Ammonia. Yes.
Before and After. It's overcast, that isn't sun shining on the top...that is clean shining.

I think it might be a little drying on the material, but I gave the bottom half some Mother's
Brazillian (no less...savy marketing keywords) Carnauba wax.

It sat up, said WOW that feels good, can I have some more? So more it will get.

I have an 301 case needs cleaning badly so I may try some of your suggestion!
My real problem on this case is the lid is barely hanging together on case...any idea on where to get it repaired?
