Looking for Billy's tutorial on Vintage machines
I'm cleaning and refinishing my 1906 treadle machine. I had printed Billy's tute: Cleaning your vintage sewing machine Part One...Disassembly (pages 1 thru 21) in Oct. 2010. I can't seem to find the rest of the tute (Part 2). I do remember seeing something about soaking parts, etc. And I did find another part the other day cleaning your vintage machine Part Three...Finish Repair. Does anyone know how to find it easily, what page it is on ? There's thousands of tute's. Send me the link ?? I spent hours trying to find it. Thanks

Well, I really messed up my machine today. I was working really hard at cleaning the machine inside and out. Then, I decided to soak it in hot soapy water to loosen the inside gunk. I forgot about it and when I went to take it out of the sink machine had turned white (I think it was the clear coat some talk about). I tried drying it and then polishing it with Fast Orange hand cleaner which I had been using. I had to rub really hard and it not only removed the white but also the decals. Very upsetting. It was a very pretty (though not perfect) sphinx decal design. Oh well, now I'll have to strip the whole thing, repaint and get new decals. A lesson learned, I should have left it alone. But, it didn't work because there was some rust and stiffness in it and it really needed a cleaning and lubricating. Now I need to find decals and leather belt ?? Thanks for letting me rattle on.
