looking for Ideas
This is a household parlor. I looking for an Idea on making a top for the Brunswick makeover I'm doing. Brunswick did have a parlor, That had a back piece on it's top very much like this has. It was solid wood, no spindles.
The problem , in my case is having enough space to fit in a support for the top. without doing a total makeover

in this photo. under the top at a 45 degree angle, you see a piece of wood, which looks to be the same color as the cabinet.
do you think thats the top support ? if it is , then it must be attached to the back piece on the top and be hidden behind the back when the top is up.
This would solve the space issue I have

I think that probably is the top support. You might need some sort of stop mounted on the back of the cabinet to hold the support as well if you hide it in the back. Not a bad solution though.
