    Okie,

I just thought I would toss my .02 worth in.

Goodrich is an ok brand but nothing special. If there was a person here who specifically collected this brand it might have value to them, however I do not know of anyone here who does.

I get local listings for comparable machines all the time in this area for around $100. Even if a buyer felt that this was special, it would have a hard time going over $150.

When you add to that the prospect of $150 for shipping a treadle unit, and the fact hat ALL of this machine would need a restore (any you would still have silvered decals) $250-300 is not a very enticing proposition to most folks here.

Please do not take this in any way to imply that there is no joy to be had from using this cool old machine, but when folks can buy machines like this 1873 Wheeler Wilson #1 with Silver plated arms for $250 (I did last Saturday) getting more than that for yours is iffy in my opinion.

SteveH, It is my understanding that Goodrich sold the sewing machine company to Singer so many of the their machines are actually re-branded Goodrich treadles. Which I would think Singer collectors would go for but was obviously wrong. I said it may be rare because I could not find any info on the "A" model. As could no one else. What makes it special is the wood work. I never once stated a monetary value on it. If I got $100 for it I would be thrilled and would never dream of shipping a 100 year old wood and iron antique. Thanks for your input though.

I am sorry if it sounded like I was being negative and I certainly was not accusing you of anything. It just seemed that you had an impression of value where it might not be and I wanted to clarify. Again, to the right collector these are worth a bunch.

    Kinda like Featherweights.... hehe

and you are correct, it could not find anything on that model in a quick search either.

I think that I see writing (like williams) on the round object at the top of head, could you use that info for your research ? I truly love the Art Nouveau cabinet that it's in.

Welcome to this board from Louisiana. Good luck hunting info. I know nothing about this type of machine. Or for any other either. LOL Sure is nice though.
