Default Looking for info on Goodrich Treadle

Hello everyone and this is my first post! My grandmother had given me this sewing treadle and I can't remember if she had gotten it from her grandmother or if she had bought this at an antique shop.

I can't for the life of me find any info on this machine. Tons of info and pictures on Goodrich "B" and New Goodrich treadles but I have found maybe 2 pictures on the internet of an A model and they were in worse condition than this one.

It is time for me to part with this machine and I am looking for any info as to what it is worth or if it is rare or not.

These may very well be the first good pictures of an A model on the internet! Also has an accessories box.

    okiefenokee,

Welcome to the QB forum. I'd like to say you got a great machine but I can't see the pics. My dial up won't open them. They are too big.

Would it be too much to ask you to resize them to no bigger than 800x600 as a service to us poor folk still on dial up?

    Thanks,

    Joe

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

@J Miller - No it is not too much to ask! I am on dsl and it took me forever to upload! I will get them resized and up by tonight.

@mom-6 - The foot pedal and the wheels on the bottom still work however the balance wheel on the actual machine turns about halfway then seizes up. I'm sure some WD-40 would break it loose but a little hesitant to try for fear of making it worse. If that could be fixed I am quite sure I could put a belt on it and it would work.

This article explains "How much is my sewing machine worth?" pretty well. IMHO, I don't believe your Goodrich sewing machine to be rare or extremely valuable though the cabinet and irons are quite nice. I'm sure someone named Goodrich would be thrilled to have it. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for your reply Jon. I have reviewed the entirety of the ISMACS website and while there are pics of the "B" and New models I can't find a shred of info about the "A" model.

I am not expecting thousands for it but if it is something special I would rather sell it to a museum or antique dealer than some craigslist random. If it isn't rare I would welcome someone to prove me wrong!

No matter their name, anyone could enjoy this piece of history!

I hope these resized pics work. If not I can resize them again.
