Default Looking for some parts for an OLD Florence Treadle

    Hey folks,

I just added this machine to the collection! A week or so of negotiations completed and now a road trip next week and she'll be in the house.

Florence started in 1855 and was sold in the late 1870's so it is a bit rough to find these bits..

It is missing the slide plate, shuttle and bobbin.

The slide plate I can most likely manage... the others are going to be REALLY hard to find, so I figured let's get as much help as I can get.

Now that is a weird one. If I ever get to CA I just got to come see your collection.

    hehe, That would be cool!

I may have a line on a broken shuttle and a couple of bobbins. (Not sure what the Broken means yet awaiting pics)

Most folks see these on the "Fancy Leg" treadle and they never even notice the machine. I turned down an option on one of those Fancies because the irons are too fragile for our travelling show.

    Ebay, craigslist.org, searchcraigslist.org

The last one is the most useful to me, it searches Craigslist across the whole US at once

I've got to get better at searching. When I was looking for Florence sewing machines - all I got was a bunch of new machines for sale in cities named Florence. . . I also had problems that it seemed half of what showed up on the search were no longer there - click the link and get the "Nothing here" message.

on the right hand side there's an option to select sort by date that'll make sure they're significantly more fresh.

I actually found that one by searching for "antique treadle sewing machine" no name at all.
