machine adaptor for 301 cabinet
I just bought a 1951 (I think) 301 in the original # 42 cabinet (one owner). It has not been cleaned and oiled for sometime, I'm sure. How do I get the adaptor (with cross bars like an X) off to be able to remove the bottom drip pan to clean, oil & lube inside? I already smashed a finger just tilting it back to look & learned a good lesson there. I'm almost afraid to tackle it, but I've learned a lot doing things myself on my multitude of machines. I know I can do it with a little help from you gurus on the QB! I also want to be able to date it and find a cord and manual for it.
Thanks from Tennessee

On mine, there's a lever on the left side of the bracket, push it to the left and downward, then the machine should be able to lift up, and will likely pivot a little to the right a little as it rises (there are pins on the right it will tilt off of.)
