Default Machines are now following me home...

A friend was over and saw my 101 in a Singer #40 library table. She and her DH said they had a table just like that with a sewing machine still in it. Since they moved, it has been in their garage, no place for it in the house. They were going to sell it, but said I could have it if I wanted. Uh, YES! Then they said the thing the thread goes through sticks out the end of the machine, though. A 15! I just purchased a 15-91, but it may be a different model 15. Even if it is another 15-91, I could leave one set up with the feed dogs down for FMQ. I can't believe my luck. They are even going to deliver it to me on Wed. I have no idea where I am going to put it, but I am sooooo excited. What great friends!

Vintage sewing machines have a special pheromone sewing machine oil scent. All you have to do is stroke one, and the siren call goes out. Enjoy.

What a nice thing to receive a 'gifted' machine.

I have been a bit bolder in voicing my desire for vintage machines. You never know when someone has one just occupying space in their garage, basement, or attic. My 99K came to me via my husband's cousin in Cleveland, OH. It was left over from a neighbor's yard sale! Mary snapped it up for me! It is in superb condition!

You will find a place for it......but, you might be in danger when they start showing up on your doorstep......"danger" of the vintage machine fever......I haven't found a cure yet (I don't think I want to)

Congratulations on your new jewel. Anxious to see a picture. My neighbor is always scouting the garage sales for me.

I don't think I am addicted - this will ONLY be my 9th vintage machine (3 in the past month). Am I having fun - Oh, yes! My biggest problem is I don't have a 99 yet....

I know what you mean...a 99.13 with NO knee bar came home with me Sat from a yard sale that had NO clue it would not run without the knee bar (for free), and then a Singer touch n sew with everything including a really neat Singer machine bag jumped into the car for $5! How does that happen?
