Meet Waldo the White Rotary
It pays to be nosy at Goodwill. I spotted a sewing machine cabinet not priced on my last visit. I lifted the lid and lo and behold there was Waldo. The clerk priced him at $39.99. The machine lifts up as the lid is opened via a thin steel woven wire. You can see the groove for the steel wire on the top of the cabinet in the last picture.
FYI, all of the crinkle finish machines get male names. The color of the finish is actually a dark metallic green. The cabinet needs refinishing but that will have to wait until the weather warms up. He was born in 1954.

Waldo must have been used somewhat as there was a bobbin of thread in the bobbin case. Sort of reeks of old machine oil though. Other than that he is really clean. I have not plugged him in yet to see how he works. Maybe tomorrow if the weather warms up. But I will give him a good dose of oil in preparation.
