Congratulations, it looks beautiful. I recently acquired a FW that was musty. Because of the rare sunny days in VT in tne winter I started with a refrigerator box of baking soda. Closed up the case for about a week then on the first nice day put it outside opened and let the sun work its magic. The sunshine worked wonders. Enjoy your new. Baby.

honestly, if the case smell won't go away, I would not use it and get a rolling tote bag. I stopped using my featherweight case to go to quilt guild meetings because the handle is starting to go and I recked my knee. So now I use a rolling suitcase tote bag, and its AWESOME. I love it so much. I wish I got the roller bag before. Best thing ever.

You got a great deal. I used everything on the musty smell and Skunkies from Wal-mart worked the best. I now keep an open bar of good smelling soap wrapped in a paper towel in each of my 5 cases. I'd leave the cord alone unless you feel like there's a problem - and ALWAYS unplug when not in use.
