It probably came from a school. My mother said they had to learn the Singer treadle machines (and all of the Singer attachments) when she was a home ec major in college, and that was post-WWII, so all the students thought that was completely ridiculous. The first high school she taught at still had a treadle machine tucked into the corner but it was only used as a novelty, for fun.

Amy Singer 15 manual will work.

Some 15-series machines have needles inserted with the flat side to the left, and some with the flat side to the right, so that might throw some people off when threading, but most of the other information should be similar enough to use.

I have a treadle 15 series that looks like this and I think it is a 96 which is the treadle version of 91. But I think the way the bobbin fits will tell you. I'm not at home so I can't look at my info, but the little handle thing on the bobbin can point either right or left and I think that will tell you. Try googling Singer treadle 15-96.

Oh yes it does Carol. I can't go anywhere that I am not scanning the roadsides for any evidence that there may be a vintage machine lurking somewhere.
