I have a couple of black Singer 301's, but this is my first two-toned one. I got it at an estate sale toward the end of summer and haven't had time to work with it. Well, we have been snowed in since Saturday evening, so yesterday I got it out, cleaned and oiled it. Today I am quilting a skateboard quilt, and I am very pleased with how the 301A is behaving.
Enjoy and Happy New Years. Karen

I love making skateboard quilts!! Oh the 301 is pretty too. My 301 is a black short bed.
Here's a picture on one of the ones I made.

Singer called the two-tone LBOW (light beige, oyster white). I really like its looks; a little dressy like a saddle shoe. Then again, the black is very nice. (Is it any wonder I've too many machines?) Anyway, congratulations on your new 301. Enjoy it in good health!

I have the 401A and have loved it since 1959-of course it is the two tone beige. I didn't realize that the 301 came in the two tone. Most I have seen are black. I also like your skate board quilt. I made one last year for one of my crazy skate-boarding grandsons as he graduated from High School. Fun quilt. I like your wild decks!

I "had" a Singer 503 Slant-o-Matic I got off CL, but I sold it at a yard sale. It was in really good shape, but it was heavy and I never used it. I'm keeping my 2 FW's, but WILL NOT LET MYSELF BUY ANY MORE old machines....LOL

I have a Rocketeer too, and I am ready to part with it. I do like the 301 for the fact that it is lightweight.
