My New Eye Candy

The model 66s don't have bobbin cases. They are built in, just drop the bobbin in and push on the little 'ejector' button to get it out. The slide plate can be bought from any parts dealer, probably Billy (Lostn51), or any number of listings on Ebay. The slide plate goes on easily from right to left, (under the pressure foot!)
As others have said, it's not hard (or expensive) to find a treadle cabinet to put it in.
Enjoy your treasure!

You don't need a bobbin case with this one...she uses a class 66 metal bobbin and she just drops in. The coverplate should be available thru Ebay or Singer dealers...it is a bit tricky to get on, a thin screwdriver to lift the prongs will do it. The big trick is to never take it all the way off again. ;-)

I'm jealous - I bought the same machine at a yard sale yesterday but the decals are just about worn off the bed. I cleaned it up, oiled it, put on a new belt and am in love with the way it sews. I still need to put the middle drawer of the cabinet back on, a project for another day.
I needed another sewing machine like I need another hole in my head. I would have never seen it if the car in front of me was going the speed limit instead of 20 miles an hour.
You can download a couple manuals for it - one shows how to set the timing and adjusting if necessary. The other is the operating manual (it threads left to right). They are free at www.safemanuals.com
Enjoy!
