    Thanks for the dates. I knew about the Gambles Dept Stores connection as I have another newer Japanese made Coronado machine. But I didn't know the dates.

    National folded in '54 and all of the other 50s Coronados I've seen are built by Brother. I haven't been able to pinpoint a closer time other than later in the '60s that someone else built them, and I'm just going by pictures I've seen not by anything definitive.

    See if you can find a junk microwave. They have VERY powerful magnets in them, the old ones. That would find even the set screw. Otherwise, a nylon stocking over the vacuum nozzle. Ask me how I know. Sew-Classic has those drive pulleys at reasonable prices, in two sizes. Best price I have found.

    I don't think S-C has the drive pulleys with the angled drive surface, but most likely a regular one will work. I have some dead drive pulleys that I can steal a set screw out of.
