Angry Need help with Necchi sewing machine 1952

So today I tried oiling my sewing machine and after I got that done then tried to sew on it. After I got it threaded the I noticed the tension button was really loose and came off for some reason. Then I tried again and this time I loosed the bobbin tension because I felt like it was too tight. Now its really messed up, Ok, so How do I fix this I can't really find much on them. This is my first vintage sewing machine and I really like it but it won't work right after doing adjustments. BTW the bobbin worked right until I loosened the tension and put it back in. I had too though because when I pulled the tread it broke. If I can't fix it i'm going to take it someone that might can fix it.

A lot of tension info on there
Tammi has more on her blog
Or you can find a repair shop that can fix it for you until the next time. It isn't rocket science at all.

I'm wondering if the tension release mechanism is working? When you lift the presser foot, do the tension disks open? There's a lever on the back (inside the machine) of the tension assembly that should push the tension release post. If that isn't doing it's job, you can't get the tension to work.
