Default Need help with Sewmor Sewing Machine Co research

I have started a collection of Sewmor sewing machines. I'd like to find out information about the company and it's history.

My latest machine, a black model 202, is stamped Sewmor on the underside of the bed and many of the parts. So I can conclude this machine was actually made by Sewmor, not just badged.

I've done an ISMACS search, Google, Wikipedia, and a couple other searches and I keep striking out.
I get listings for eBay and GW auctions ( the auction where I won the 202 came right up ) and that's about all.
Even those links that profess to have some history come up with nothing useful. Just links that run me around in circles.
I have 6 Sewmors now and am always looking for more. I'd love to have some history to go with the machines.

So could I ask those that are more skilled at searches to help with this endeavor?

    TIA

    Joe

    Jon,

Thanks, that does add some illumination to my conundrum. I've read most of that legal page, and will have to re-read it tomorrow when my mind isn't so full of turkey and dressing.

Wow, that is interesting Jon. I always thought my Sewmor 606 looked Necchi-ish. It would be interesting to take a look at the patents that are referenced.

I know you have probably read this but I will post it for newbies and others have not read it.

    SunflowerZZ,

I have that page bookmarked. There is virtually no detailed info in it. Just a mention of the Consolidated Sewing Machine Corp, which is a non existent page.

I was looking for something more detailed.

Like who retailed the Sewmor brand, and like that.

    Carol,

Not really. That page just lists auctions for the machines. It doesn't give any information I could see.
