    almost forgot -- there is also a text button, symbolized by a capital "A". If you click on that you can then use the mouse to describe a box inside the picture, and a cursor will appear inside the box so you can type something. To change the font and size click View > text toolbox. There is also a circle or oval button among the tools. Play with these things until you get the hang of it.

    Steve can tell you how HE does it. I use a photo editing program called "Irfanview"

    CAUTION: because Irfanview is free and has been around since the caveperson days of computing, there are a lot of sites trying to use the free download to add crud and worse to the download/install. Even the CNET version you have to be careful not to load "other things it offers" to include..

    Because it manages images better than paint but within the program you can press the F12 and pull up the Paint dialog box for controls. Then it is just click to set foreground color, background color, and fill or not, and finally the tool to use (circle, line, arrow, text)

    MS Paint does it too but not as friendly. Inkscape is another good free app for this kind of editing.
