Default Need photos of Singer 538 internals

I'm gradually diagnosing the ailments of my wife's Singer 538. There might be a missing spring in the cam control system, but I'm not sure.

What I need is for anyone who has a Singer 518,538,514,513 or 333 (but especially a 538) to pull the top off and take a couple of clear, well focused, up close photos of the inner workings towards the right side (hand wheel side) rear.

I have a Singer 413 which is similar I'm going to pull the top off of and take a look see, but a pic of the machine I'm working on would be great.

    TIA,

    Joe

Did you find what you are looking for? If not I am picking up my 101 from the OSMG on Tuesday and can ask him if he has a 538 and if the answer is yes then can take some pics for you.

    Caroline,

No, I haven't found a singe pic of the insides of a 538. The exploded parts drawing show two springs that work with the cam mechanism. I can find only one. Either the second one is broken and fallen down inside somewhere, or I'm just not seeing it.

That's the info I'm looking for.

    Thanks for the help.

    Joe
