Good for you that you "rescued" this great find from being scrapped!! Its great that the machine you have will fit in it without too many modifications, especially since you said the machine that came in it is probably not an option for you to get.

I have several industrial machines and didn't know about the different tables. From now on I will double check them and see. Thanks ThayerRags and beckalou for the info.

beckalou if you decide to get an industrial Singer I would suggest getting a 107W as it does both the straight and the zig zag if you like vintage otherwise maybe a 14U if it fits. I use my 107W1 all the time and my friend just loves using it for satin binding. I have a 31 15 from my aunt and uncle and can't get rid of it but use the 107W1 for quilts and heavy duty stitching. Those machines take care of pretty much anything I want to do, even my husbands projects without any problems or worries about breaking! Needless to say I really love the industrials, both sergers and regular. Hope you decide to look for one and see how great they are once you get use to the power or get a Servo motor!

    Good luck!

    Lisa,
I would love to find a machine to go in this stand, would prefer to find a Singer with a glossy black paint job on it since it will be on display in my dining room. Not sure which of the models would fit in it if there are any with that type of finish. I'll be searching with tape measure in hand.

    OOH... lucky you!

I hope you can get the machine that originally was in the table.
The set-up is similar to the table for my 31-15, but mine is a later one, not the cast iron legs and pedal. I want to treadle the 31-15 eventually, but am using it tailed for now.

Congratulations! It is a pretty unique table to have. I'd jump at the chance too.

So, did you end up with a machine for this table ? I just picked up a similar table, though mine has wooden straight legs, and unfortunately a european 220 volt 50 hz motor. Mine will be primarily a treadle machine ;-)
