New baby
I feel so happy today with a new baby I purchased from an acquaintance. It was a great bargain in the cabinet, with the stool, and the stool was full of treasures. I have spent 2 hours tonight cleaning her up, taking her apart and giving her a good servicing. She looked in good shape and clean...fooled me. I don't think it had ever been cleaned. She is a beautiful 301a now. I am going to love sewing on Catherine (named after the original owner, mother of the friend). Pictures were before the cleanup. I feel like I got my $50.00 worth. The stitches are after she was serviced, pink on top, white in bobbin. Tomorrow is my 43rd anniversary to a husband that puts up with all my machines and sewing stash....so it seemed like it must have been meant for me. Whoooopppeee! I think he got off pretty cheap.

You did good, girl. That stool is worth the $50 you paid. They are getting hard to find. The machine brings back memories for me..... taught sewing in a middle school with about 25 of those..... I could take them apart and fix just about anything. I'd sure like to find one of those for myself..... they took the abuse of many a middle schooler and kept going. That's saying something.
