You got a lovely (and manly) machine and nice cabinet. The price was great. You will enjoy this machine, and we can answer your questions. I restored a non-working 127 back to working order, so I'll keep an eye out for your posts.
My father used a Singer 27 treadle, and there is nobody who would have doubted his manliness. He was big, strong, and muscular, athletic, good-looking, good with a gun, good hunter, etc. I learned to sew on a Singer 27 treadle. Dad also taught me how to iron.
For heaven's sake, no more WD-40!!! No 3-in-1 oil! Nothing but sewing machine oil or Tri-flow oil, and for lubricant for gears use Singer lubricant (available at Joann's and other places in a small tube) or Tri-flow lubricant. Wipe that WD-40 out of there!
What is your next step?
