    That is a pretty machine! I've never seen one like it. I hope you can get it sewing a straight stitch. How about keeping it for a while. You can always change your mind later.

    She is beautiful, so clean and shiney! If she does not have plastic gears under the top I would keep her.

    I have a NH 556, 1963, much more elaborate. Yours is so pretty. These were the top of the line back in the early 60's. Mine will sew anything.

    Donna,

    If you haven't done it already, my guess was right. Loosen the round knob to the right of the lever at the top center of the machine and slide the lever to the right to "O". It will then straight stitch.

    Very simple .... well sorta.

    That is a nice machine.
