Default New National (New Home) Handcrank

Put this under the "It never hurts to ask" category.

It was listed for $100 and I sent a message saying "I hoped you got your asking price, but if you do not, would you consider an offer of $50 cash?.

1 week later I get a reply "Yes, I will take $50" That's it. the whole message.

I picked it up Saturday am.

    Kinda gross but definitely salvageable.

Notice the WEIRD top tension someone cobbled together in it's past...

The hole for the tension disks is twice the diameter of the screw being used as a post.

    It was functional but ewwww..

(BTW - I am not saying who did this modification, but it came with a photocopy of the manual with a green card attached thanking the buyer for purchasing from Tias, they may have just bought a manual not the machine itself)

and I remembered that I had an old New Home handcrank that was rattle can painted gold (ewww) but with the correct tension mechanism, so here she is with her donated "correct" tension.

    Another beauty!

I like your offer wording, I'll have to remember that one, very inoffensive. I've got several older craislisting bookmarked for when we head south -figure when we get in the area I can give them a email and see if the machine is still available if the add hasn't been deleted.

Thanks, I am looking for info to find out if the upper tension on THIS model should have the extra release arm or not. I put it on because it was part of the mechanism i got it from but the only other pics of a machine like this show one with out the arm... ahh research.

research now shows that this is a New Home New national Model U.

I have seen several online with and without the upper tension release arm, So I am leaving mine for now.

Also, funny, research shows that the face plate is on upside down.... LOL

I will fix that when I get home.
