I don't have one, but I'd like to try one out myself. When yours gets there can I come over and help you test run it?

Just kidding, however I have heard that the Amish use them so they must have something going for them.

Let us know how you get on with the 712T. I hope you like it.

I am particularly interested to know how much adjustment may be required to drop it into, say, a cabinet for a Full size Singer.

From what I have read, it will perfectly fit a Singer treadle cabinet. I have been thinking of getting one also.

    Krisb,

cricket_iscute is correct, these machines are intended to fit into Singer treadles.

I know this is a very ‘old’ thread, but I have had a Janome 712t for about a year. I absolutely love it. It took awhile to get my feet coordinated but now, it just seems natural. I had a 1900 Singer cabinet. My husband had to cut out some of the wood for it to fit. Since I am off grid, it is perfect.
