Run the thread through the little cuts under the tension spring so that when you pull on it the bobbin rotates clockwise.

    I hope this clarifies it a bit. Sometimes the pics in these photo copied manuals are less than clear.

    Oh that is sooooooooo pretty. I don't believe I have ever seen one that pretty. Congratuations!!
