I want the house to put the machine in..So I'm thinking it's pretty important. We are in an apartment right now and with 2 treadle machines with heads and another treadle cabinet it's getting kinda close in here. LOL My DH is biting his tongue I am sure. But he did say yes to this treadle... LOL
What a guy!!! Yep and he's all MINE!!! LOL
Sandilee, when you get that machine, please, please post some pics for us? I think it's so cool that your going to get it. I would say take anything he offers you if he doesn't care about it. At least you'll know it's going to a good home. If you don't want to keep them you can gift your friends here on the board Xmas gifts ;-)
    :-D

Check out this site and click on the "Cleaning Old Machines" link to get some great tips. McKenna also lists some great products to polish the chrome parts as well as an automotive product that will make that machine shine like a new one!

That's a wonderful story. I keep waiting for my treadle machine to show up...I just know it will happen and will be a great deal. I'm not in too much of a hurry, but I want it!

I learned to sew on my mom's Singer treadle machine (cabinet & all!). In fact, several outfits were made on that machine during my home ec classes in school (back when it was actually called home ec!) Super easy machine to start sewing on! What I wouldn't give to have it again! Congratulations on your "find" & on landing the contract for your new house!
