That is fantastic. So far my GDs aren't interested. I just got an older machine today. Not sure what it is yet. Canadian made Singer JC213797 and the little gold oval on machine says Singer 1851-1951

Oh my goodness, sounds like you got yourself a Centennial Singer. Wonderful.

And Nana, I have my GGrands sewing and I live in TN, they live in TX. I did give them newer Singers though because I had found a couple real cheap somewhere, and I don't mind totin' them off and on SW Airlines, plus they love the looks of them, and I don't care if they break them. They know I am a collector of vintage, and when they ask for one I'll give it to them. I have FWs, 301s, 99ks, that they might take an interest in. "Might" being the key word here......

What a great gift you have given them -- they will always remember sewing with you.

Wonderful that you have planted some seeds! Perhaps a pillowcase for a project idea-?

Was with my 13 and 17 year old grand daughters this pas week. Once said she wanted an old sewing machine (the old black little singers) and the other wants a manual typewriter from the 1950s to 70s. Surprised me but got my gears spinning so will have to see what is out there.

good for you! I hope those events come sooner than you think! Have fun, I can't wait to teach my GC to sew...so far they show interest, but it comes down to the nitty-gritty----who knows?!
