What a brilliant idea this was! Well, it's an old idea to botanists, who have been using dichotomous keys for ages. Dichotomous means 'two choices' (more or less) and when using this type of key, you are given a choice of this or that. Each choice takes you to another one, until you have whittled down the characteristics to a single item. I can't believe I never thought of this, and many of you who have a lot of experience (or a lot of machines, lol) probably do this in your head without realizing it.

This is how we first did artificial intelligence. I was on the business side and by doing this created computer program so we could put computers in banks to underwrite properties and bind coverage and print proof of insurance or send message to underwriter that a property needed further underwriting before accepted. Since banks had hundreds and thousands of properties In Trust, this reduced the amount the underwriter needed to see.

The only problem I had was going through security at airport in Canada with an overhead projection panel, which did nothing in and of itself. I could not turn it "on" as it only worked with a laptop, which I had. New technology in the 80's. Even had a printer I could attach too the back of the laptop computer!

Oh how enthralled we were back then.
