Which One Will You Pick - a Centennial Godzilla 128 or 301A ?
i know, i am here again. but bear with me as i am in a confused stage. if you guys have a choice between a Centennial Godzilla 128 and a 301A, which one will you choose ? i do have the option and the priviledge of getting one but not both. so don't tell me to get them all. i wish i could. but for now it's just one machine for me as i already got a 15-91 recently. appreciate it. sorry for asking - again. here's the kicker - a 301A can be had for $50. a Centennial Godzilla 128 can be had for $35 and it comes with "Famous Buttonholer Worker, Model C".
THANKS GUYS !!!!

As long as it worked, and all of the pertinent pieces are there, I'd get the 301. Make sure it has the bobbin case, though.
Looks that buttonholer is commonly available on eBay for $10-$15, so it's nothing special.

301s are popular machines due to being aluminum and light weight. Probably the 2nd most popular vintage machine for quilters, the featherweights being first. Bobbin cases are the same for both machines and pricey. I'd jump on it for $50 if the bobbin case is there. The 128s aren't as popular and are worth less but it is still worth the asking price IMO especially if it has it's bent wood case.
Both are good and too bad you can't get both.

The bottom line question could be "What will you use it for?" I have a friend who loves free motion quilting with her 301-A. Me, I ask, "Is it good looking? Is it cheap? Is it a greyhound? Not everyone's bottom line but I'm going to focus on New Home greyhounds but if a 301 falls in my lap, I won't complain. Have fun!

I think I ask this question on every post you make....what kind of sewing will you need it for? What do you need a machine to do? Research the machine to see if it does what you need it to and that should answer your question somewhat. For me, it would be an easy choice to go with the 301 because it does what I need it to do.

Being a member of this forum sure come in handy. You guys are the best. Thanks a lot for all your inputs. It made my choice so easy. 301 it is for me. 301 sure can do a lot of stuff compare to the 128. But I need to check if the bobbin case is there. I know for sure that the 128 has all parts intact as I asked the owner. Thanks again.
