It has a rotary hook, which doesn't have the best stitch quality. It will sew a good straight stitch. But you'll never get a balanced zig-zag stitch from it. The plastic presser foot lifter is notorious for breaking. It does have the good Pfaff electrical cord -- some of their cords short out easily.
If you're looking for a vintage machine that will be a good work horse, get a vintage Kenmore. Model 158.__ was made by Jaguar engineers. find one with a low-shank presser foot, so you can use any standard snap-on presser feet. find one with a front-loading bobbin, not a drop-in or side-loading bobbin. And find one with built-in stitches, not just cams. Then you will have an awesome, well-built, bullet-proof, vintage sewing machine.
