I paid 12.50 to goodwill for mine

True they maybe more comon here in the US, but maybe not in Australia, could you check on ebay in Australia and see what the average price is? If the machine has been sitting there for awhile you might try and ask if they will take less for it.

Ruby, That is far too much.

In fairness, you can't expect QB members, who are mainly in the USA, to comment on prices for second hand sewing machines in Australia. The market for sewing machines depends on where you are, but anyone putting a three figure price in any currency on a 99K is trying it on. The market for sewing machines varies depends on where you are.

I suggest you read all the advice on this site http://www.helenhowes-sewingmachines.co.uk and if you want to try sending a message to the young chap who has this blog, he is in Australia and will give you a much better idea of what you can get and for how much there http://scheong.wordpress.com/categor...wing-machines/ I've been in touch with him before now - he's very easy to get on with.

Thankyou everyone and Muv thanks very much for the contact. I didn't mean to get anyone frustrated with me...am well aware that prices are gonna vary from country to country but was hoping there might be some Australian members on this forum that could advise me as I really have no idea. Please don't be cross with me...I'm just feeling my way!

I paid 5, 20, and 35.00 for mine. the 2 5.00 ones were heads only, 20 is in a bentwood base (no lid) and the 35.00 is in a cabinet. That is way high in my opinion.

Not at all crossed with you, I knew when I read your post that you we asking for price in Australia. I posted because I realized some of the members (which I myself have done too at times) had missed it was in another country then in the US.

I paid $10 USD at a yard sale and my dealer put in a new bulb, new cord, timed it, and cleaned it gor $25. Like the others, they are really common in US. $145 seems like way too much.

I agree with all...$10.00-40.00 and it should be nice with carrying case and probably accessories. 125 is a museum piece if it is that good.
