Yooper, I'm truly sorry if I've offended you... that certainly was Not my intention. Yes, I know people older than that who can do just about anything they want. Anyone who must live in a nursing home as determined by their doctor, but still has the drive and ability to get a quilt done, is very inspiring.

They have a very good "activities" dept and staff, but currently no "quilting club." She doesn't have an iron, but the staff will help her out with ironing the binding when she's finished.

Hey MsYooper32...they said on the radio the other day 60 is the 'new middle age', besides you're as old as you feel....has nothing to do with chronological age. I intend to be as active as I can right 'til whenever 'the end' may be. Not much point otherwise. PS may I ask you post the picture of your project, I am not familar with the LC Christian Cross.

Kudos to her. There's a 91yo lady in my quilt group who can still crank out a quilt or 2 a month for local charities (usually baby-size and she SIDs them herself). She's great at hand sewing the bindings too. MsYooper32, you are 83 years young. I hope you keep going for a long time.

This makes me look forward to the years ahead.......always some reason to get going on a project! What a great way to keep my brain young. Goodness knows, my scrap pile will still be growing!!

I hope to be quilting for the next 20 years - at least. I'm 81 - and a half, and feel like 16 most of the time.

You go girl, and remember age is only a number, it is the health that makes it harder for some than others, but your doing great so keep up the good work. You sound like a great lady and keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing your cousins story. Looking forward to pictures on your next trip. Could we mail her ONE FAT QUARTER?

I think I'd like to ask her about receiving any fabric . . . she did mention how she liked to try to use up her stash as she had more fabric than she'd ever be able to use up. The one she was working on that day was from her box of "extras." It's a pinwheel quilt.

Then there's the one she wants to finish up that's embroidered blocks she received years ago from her aunt.

I know she's going to be tickled pink to hear these responses. I don't want her to feel overwhelmed with too much to do either. And, then there's the limited storage in a nursing home room.

But, thank you, and I promise I will ask her if it would be okay.
