Love the old machines.

Please tell me why you love that Kenmore so much. I have one and was thinking of selling it, and maybe you will change my mind.

I love those Kenmores - they are simple. They are sturdy enough to sew about anything. They have nice patterns and they have stretch stitches - they are easy to clean the bobbin if it knots up. There is a monogram maker. No computer to die. Lots and lots of attachments. Some of the pattern stitches can be changed so they do more than just one pattern. Maybe there is more joy than I know.

I have one just like yours.

Miriam, I will take a picture of my insides for you. Mine is a 158.17600 and it is much more beige. I call it my 'workhorse' . It is ridiculously heavy.

looks like it is a button hole maker - Sears has odd looking monogram and buttonholers.
