Pfaff 130 is a sweet sewing machine
1 Attachment(s)
I have a Pfaff 130 that I bought a couple of years ago at an auction. It has set in my out building since then. I wasn't even sure it sewed. I downloaded the manual and the service manual and squirted it with some oil, threaded it up and it sewed like a charm. It zig zagged perfectly. It's quiet like a 201-2. It's still a little stiff, but some sewing and more oil should fix that.
I may regret selling this one, but I can't keep them all. (Unless you are Leon, Cari or Macybaby.) bkay |
As quiet as a 201 And it zig zags?! And not bound up with varnish? I think that would have to be on my keep list ;-)
I love the smoothness of my 201, just wish it zig zags and not so heavy. |
This one is as heavy as the 201. It's cast iron, too.

Thanks Bkay, I think? But I don't keep them all. I have at least 30 that I'll be getting rid of in the near and far future. Whether I sell them, give them away or trade them remains to be seen. Or I could loan more out. I loaned one to a neighbors girlfriend about a month ago and haven't seen her since.

My Pfaff 130 is the only machine I own in a cabinet, and it gets daily usage. It is the only machine that I have that zigzags. Mine doesn't have the nice clean shine that yours has, Bkay, but I love it anyway and probably take it for granted a little too much.

A Pfaff 130 is one of the few machines remaining on the bucket list. I have a 30, but no ZZ. And even I am off loading some machines.

I love my Pfaff 130. It is my "go to" for FMQ if the object is fairly small, like a quilted tote bag or lap quilt. It is so solid. Also have a Pfaff 262 I bought brand new in 1968 which is a "modernized" version of the 130. Love these workhorses.

I stumbled upon the 130 when I bought a singer 15-91 on an online auction for $28 and it happened to come with a 130. Now I am hooked. The Pfaff 130 is now my go to machine!

You found a service manual? Can you provide a link? I bought a sad-looking Pfaff 130 at an Antique place in Pennsylvania. It was only $4. Clearly, I did not know how deep into it I'd get . Nothing turned. Now its all freed up and everything is moving. I figured for $4 I'd learn a few things, but I've become addicted to its restoration. I've spent hours trying to find info.
