Since it is the back one, lay the machine on it's front side and work the notches from their top protect the paint...

I have the red lever set at 3 as in the manual. I can see the plate trying to push up the post. But not moving yet. Do you think heat at this point would help?

miriam 03-25-2013 01:10 PM

The plate should pull out & clear the post to move up or down.

Stitchnripper 03-25-2013 01:13 PM

Near as I can tell, it doesn't clear the post. The front one doesn't clear the post either - it looks like that is what pushes the post up.

miriam 03-25-2013 01:24 PM

The post does not move. The little plate is what moves. It pulls out and goes up or down. Then goes back into a slot, Did you like Tammi's video?

Stitchnripper 03-25-2013 01:28 PM

I loved her video. I think I meant to say the plate doesn't clear the post, but, doesn't move either. the plate pushes that piece that is around the post up and down the post, is that right? Should I try heat again?

Are you dabbing on the brake cleaner into that sleeve?

Stitchnripper 03-25-2013 01:33 PM

Yes I did that a few times. I was outside in the cold wind and wonder if it evaporated before it could work.

miriam 03-25-2013 01:34 PM

You may need to take in in the bathroom and run the fan. Maybe you do need to warm it up slowly. It probably did evaporate too fast.

Stitchnripper 03-25-2013 01:35 PM

Okay. Will try that back and report back. I do appreciate the time you are taking to help me.
