Ok, this one has me baffled. What model and what's with the openings on top?

Mark is right, but I see it there in the last picture. It is an oval piece and it is under the motor just about to fall into the opening. I bet it was lost by the time they posted it. That machine and cabinet are in HORRIBLE condition. The finish on the machine is crazed something terrible.

That is a 201-2 that is missing the silver plate where the spool pin goes. Looks like they employed a used lollypop stick for the spool pin.

Isn't that a match? Maybe a fireplace one?

Could be. Seems like it would be awkward to start a fire while holding a sewing machine, though.

Indeed it would be! :D

The description seems to be for another machine. Among other incongruent things it says, "Metal parts are free of rust and corrosion and the sewing plate has retained its original luster." The cloth plate and most of the metal is covered in rust. And what is the "butterfly" clamp? I think they lifted the description from another ad.

"Most eBay auctions -- from antiques to fashion to video games -- are considered to be legally binding contracts, requiring quick payment from the buyer and safe delivery from the seller. Not so for vehicle auctions, which are non-binding and can be canceled by either the buyer or the seller." I bet I can find that in their rules too. This article was more "fun" though.

The cars are not binding, I would think that a sewing machine is.

ETA: I agree, eBay isn't worth the aggravation.

Tammi is right -- it's a binding contract. It's strange that they didn't refund your money immediately, but I would request that they honor the contract. If they don't, or if they refund, then escalate to ebay. It's obvious that they were hoping the bid would go higher, not that they mis-priced it. As Tammi said, they could have cancelled it. This is probably grounds for suspension so I would make ebay aware of it. Mis-pricing an item is not a valid reason for cancelling an auction that has ended. A valid reason would be that the item is no longer available ("I dropped it and it broke", etc.). This is usually the reason given by these people who have seller's remorse.

The hand wheel has more than 4 spokes as well, if you can even call the curvy cutouts spokes.

Not sure what a "Weed stiching" machine is . . . http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/atq/4085965095.html

Weed is actually a machine brand name. Would like better pics though. Fairly uncommon from what I can remember about them.

Thanks for clarifying the "Weed" part - I really thought it was something the seller was smoking!
