Irishrose, love the quilt! Is that a two sided quilt? You did a great job! Who is the girl? You said your son would be please? I'm confused, did I miss the thread where you told us who the girl is?
Nancy I found out - your son's daughter! Beautiful girl! Another question, you have your 301 in treadle? I don't have any trouble with regular photos, but the one I'd like to use of this quilt was cropped to remove my son's bare stomach and I couldn't get it to transfer. I have now, but I won't repost it. The Amerikan is a pretty machine. New Home did a nice job, didn't they. |

lets see if the picture will load this time - I've had expert help - and you thought I couldn't do it... This is a picture of the Singer FW my mom got in 1948 as a college graduation picture. Tutorial coming soon. |
Does anyone have a source for 20x1 needles?

Randa, your Amerikan is made by New Home! I knew the minute I looked at it, but according to ISMACS it is made by New Home and takes a 20x1 needle! Congratulations!
Someone on here posted some great shots of the threading path for the New Home. I think it was Monica, so can you re-post those photos for Randa? Nancy |
Randa, here is a New Home Rotary manual, but I think they thread about the same. http://www.ismacs.net/newhome/manual...ary-manual.pdf
I also have a New Home shuttle type manual. I will find that for you. Nancy Here is the shuttle New Home. This is from the Smithsonian so it is a little harder to download! http://www.sil.si.edu/DigitalCollect...es/image11.htm Your attachments should have a fork on the back since your Amerikan is a back clamping type machine, anyway it looks back clamping to me in your picture! |

From the ISMACS needle list:
*In place of a 20x1 needle, it is often possible to compensate for the difference in needle length by setting a (shorter) 15x1 eedle correspondingly lower in the needle clamp.
