Here's the Davis treadle she gave me. I had to wait till this morning to take photos. She needs alot of cleaning but she'll be gorgeous when she's had a good bath! Her serial number is 794932.

Chris I thinned my herd down by 7 machines this month. I sold 5 at a community yard sale, gave one to a friend, and sold one to a friend. Once you have been doing this for a while, you will just 'know' which machines you love and can't live without - and which machines you are not in love with and can part with! I really like all my machines and do have a hard time parting with any of them - but, if you want to be practical getting rid of the not so favorite machines just means you get to get more of the ones you want! With that thought in mind, it is much easier to thin the herd out!

Wow Jen, that cabinet is in one of the best conditions I have seen for a Davis! I have the same cabinet and machine- my cabinet had to be completely refinished and my machine looks exactly like yours - no decals to speak of - but, what a great machine! What a lucky person you are!

haha yeah she's not so pretty at the moment but I see most of the decals on her arm are there. The base is another story. I hope I can get them fully uncovered with alot of elbow grease.

Thanks, yes it does. The VF2 dates to 1901 and the Model L, "Parisian" is pretty scarce--only other Model L I've seen was in the Needlebar site. That being said I'm sure I'll see a couple in Craigslist or Ebay tomorrow.

The VF2 is a real keeper---looks like your getting quite the Davis collection. Interested to see how they both clean up.

Jennb, That is a very pretty Davis cabinet. Davis VF machines are wonderful machines for quilting and attaching binding.

I would love to see a photo of the German 201 and cabinet. Sounds like you are having fun with helping this person out. Thanks for sharing with us. Enjoy that Davis!!
