Here's the Davis treadle she gave me. I had to wait till this morning to take photos. She needs alot of cleaning but she'll be gorgeous when she's had a good bath! Her serial number is 794932.

Say one wanted to thin one's herd for whatever reason. How does one go about figuring out which machine one wants to keep and which ones to move out? If I go by the ones I use, I can thin to about 7 BUT is there another method of thinning?

Hi Jennifer,
This head http://kansascity.craigslist.org/atq/3100931637.html with your base and you'd have a "SuperDavis". Very VF2 as it is. Jon |

haha yeah she's not so pretty at the moment but I see most of the decals on her arm are there. The base is another story. I hope I can get them fully uncovered with alot of elbow grease.
Hope that gives you 2 more nice ones to add to your database! The VF2 is a real keeper---looks like your getting quite the Davis collection. Interested to see how they both clean up. Jon |
Jenn, I want to see your Davis too. Can you resize the pics so they will load better for the dial-up folks? My connection will not let them upload. Sounds like an exciting venture you have had with the museum items.

Jennb, That is a very pretty Davis cabinet. Davis VF machines are wonderful machines for quilting and attaching binding.
I would love to see a photo of the German 201 and cabinet. Sounds like you are having fun with helping this person out. Thanks for sharing with us. Enjoy that Davis!! |
