ROTFLMBO - my daughter is ok but my DIL is another story. She thinks INTERVENTION. I'm getting ready to go pick up a 401 late this afternoon.

So how many 401s will this one make? Just curious - not criticizing or thinking intervention! :D

I can part with more than two but it's picking the ones I like/use better than others that's giving me fits.

I think I have another 401A, a 403, a 411G, a 401G and a very bad 500. I need to get rid of all but the 403 and the 401G. I have way too many machines. I think I have 3 301s - those gotta go. Way too many clones and Kenmores. I like fixing them... after that I'm done for the most part. Sort of like Sudoku - do the puzzle and then go do another puzzle.

Miriam, I have a non-functioing 503, a 401 and a 403 I think. It might be 2 401's - I have to check. I do have 2 301s but I use mine constantly so they are keepers. I also have a HC 66 that I am on the fence over keeping but it's small so can go to the back burner for right now. Before I can get rid of too many of mine, I have to get them up and sewing and then find them homes. I did drop off a Japenese clone to a gal today who was grateful to get it and hopefully it went to a good home. I did tell her to oil it some more with sewing machine oil and I hope she listened but who knows. I too have way too many machines.
Fixing them is kind of like a Sodoku puzzle but it's a lot of fun.

Someone gave me a big box of double knit poly from 1970s - how do you get rid of that?
I've seen quilts but I just don't have the stomach for it.

Fun to fix up the "bargains" (usually black Singers around here) and put the profits (not much if any) towards something I'd really like to have (Davis and a few others). Only problem is I have to ship to move the machines, which I hate.

It makes great tablecloths. It's a nice weight & doesn't wrinkle...but grease/oil stains MUST be treated before laundering.

Yuck. You can donate it to GoodWill, as someone may want it. Get the tax write-off.
