Wow some lovely machines being pictured. I can't keep up on this board. I am currently waiting on a Singer 403A to arrive, its cams & manual came last month. Just yesterday finally got the Singer 758 oiled cleaned and running...oh my goodness I was going to give it to a friend but she sounds so smooth when she is sewing....I can't seem to let go..lol Not that any of you can relate :)

Whatever. It's smaller than a 128 but larger than a 221. Anyway, the Dynamic is its twin.
pat Re machine sizes, it's hard to know how to describe non-Singers. A lot of my older machines are considerably smaller than FWs, but I guess there's no convenient term. It is interesting that class 15 clones come in different sizes, though Singer made 15s in only one. pat |

Oops, just noticed that this sounds snippier than I had intended. Sorry, Miriam! Was feeling a bit cranky last night. :o

Popping in again to say "hi"! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!! We had a great day...The two of us, our son and DIL, the spousal unit's brother and wife, and remember "John"? The friend we made the dialysis quilt for? He came too! :)
I will be so glad when life gets back to "almost normal"!! LOL! Got the tree and Santa collection out today...tomorrow evening, we're going to check out a machine that the kids want to get for me for Christmas... I'm not going to tell you what it is, but I've kept my eyes open for one since someone else here got one!! I'll post pics tomorrow evening if it comes home with us!! :) |

I just got done with this Kenmore Stylist 86 today. I had to tear it down almost completely as it was really dirty as you can see. I evicted the previous tenants (mice) and their food (corn) cleaned every part on it and rewired everything but the light but including the motor. A lot of work for a $45 machine I know, but it was going to go to the scrap yard if I didn't take it. It was a Sophie's Choice kind of thing. But now, hopefully someone will be able to enjoy it for another 50 years. I didn't get any true "Before" pictures, but I am sure you all will get the jist of how bad it was and how it looks now. And it sews beautifully. ~G~

I use my machine two or three times a month to mend and zz binding with that mono poly you told me about. I have not had your problem but I do know that I must be very careful with the byte it can be touchy so I always check it out by hand first. Now watch, the next time I use it I will have the problem. LOL I like the zz because you can adjust a very nice stitch with it. Maybe if I used it everyday like you I am sure I would run into problems but I always have the manual open when I use the machine.
Skip BTW I still have the motor and light for my 319 and it is in a cabinet somewhere Nancy |
